Brazilian born designer, Gracienne Myers takes steps to help reduce the carbon footprint of shoe-istas everywhere. The
Gracienne Clearly Glam shoe box allows shoe lovers to get uber organized and helps keep the ozone layer intact.
Finally, the days of rummaging through one's closet looking for the perfect pair of pumps to match that sultry ensemble are over. The ground-breaking Clearly Glam shoe box is made from recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), (the same material used in disposable water bottle packaging). The recycling process burns less fuel, adds less waste to landfills and uses less invaluable natural resources, like oxygen, during production.
Most recently at the fall 2008 Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, Myers collaborated with luxury water brand, Evian Natural Spring Water to produce an iconic stiletto using a Brazilian factory that has a unique eco-friendly approach with it's own water treatment facility, so all water used during manufacturing is recycled back into the process; never polluting the natural springs or ground nearby. Myers used this innovative collaboration as a springboard for Clearly Glam, one of the most practical and uncommonly glamorous closet solutions to date.
This environmentally conscious closet solution is sold at
www.Gracienne.com/shop retailing for $9.95 per box. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Clearly Glam will go to anti-global warming and water preservation organizations worldwide.
Gracienne collections, (worn by celebrities including Fergie, Demi Moore, Leighton Meester and Halle Berry) are best known for their forward textures, pop colors and sensual silhouettes and are inspired by the rainforests of the Amazon, one of the world's most precious resources.
